Grandpa came to visit

Tuesday Grandpa had a business meeting in a city nearby, so he drove up to see us. I told Dani that Grandpa was coming to visit and she said "Grandpa happy see you" (meaning Grandpa will be happy to see Dani). She then told me that she was going to play doll house with grandpa.
It didn't take long before she had grandpa down on the floor playing doll house.She also had him build towers for her to knock down. I think he built towers for about a half hour before she was willing to move on to something else.She was very excited to have her picture taken on her bug next to the towers grandpa built. Grandpa was also very nice to take us out to eat one of Dani's favorite foods, noodles. She was finally allowed to leave the house and enjoyed every minute of it.

Shoes

Dani has been sick for a few days. I kept her home from church on Sunday to not spread her sickness and we spent all day Monday at home. Monday night she decided it was time for us to get out of the house. She went and got her shoes and tried very hard to put them on herself. Afterwards she told Dad and I that it was time to go. She ran to our front door and told me "Mama open door!", "Let's go eat!". Unfortunately it was nearly bed time and we were not going to go anywhere. She threw a fit when it was time to get ready for bed and we had to take off her shoes to put on her pajamas. So we compromised and let her put her shoes back on over her pajamas. She went to bed this way and refused to take them off until morning time.

I thought it was quite entertaining watch her problem solve to put her shoes on, so I videotaped it. This was the first time she was able to successfully get both shoes on by herself.

Easel and Zoo Membership

Saturday a package arrived from my Mom with an Easel for Dani as well as a small purse and music books. As you can see, Dani loved the easel right away.She also carried the purse around all day.She liked to ask me to guess what was in her purse and then tell me "I know! It's ____"After painting and drawing with markers in the morning we bought a zoo membership and visited the zoo. It was a beautiful day! Something that has been rare here lately. All the way to the zoo Dani was saying "Monkeys happy see you" (she was certain the monkeys would be happy to see her). I found it interesting to see the peacocks walking free around the zoo.

Dani has learned to smile for the camera, but sometimes it looks a little exhaggerated.

Still has curls

Lately Dani's hair has been quite straight with the dry weather here and how long her hair is getting. On occasion, however, I can get it to curl after her bath. I love that she lets me play with it still.
