Phone

Earlier today Dani begged Trent to borrow his phone. We let her call Aunt Jess at home, and they talked for a few minutes. Pretty soon she was talking to grandpa. She talked to him a few minutes and then decided that the baby wanted to talk to him-shown in the video. We thought that grandpa was just home from work for lunch or something, but no, he was called on his cell at work. Luckily he had a few minutes to talk to his granddaughter (and her dolls).

This is about as long as her attention span can handle when she knows she is being recorded and she is anxious to see the video.

She's getting tall

I love to see Dani get up on her tiptoes and try and balance to reach up high. The reason I was able to get Dani to try a couple times to reach the light is because she didn't realize I had the video camera out. I love her response when she sees the camera.

For a few weeks now, Dani has been able to turn on and off the light in her kitchen as shown in the video. However, yesterday she realized she could open up the top cupboards and get all of the dishes out of them. She can reach and take things off of the table and is quite skilled at standing on her tiptoes to look and see what is up there.

Happy Easter!

We were very lucky to be able to visit Nana and Papa for Easter this year. Dani went on an Easter Egg hunt in their backyard. She found the petrified bunny to be much more intriguing than the eggs and candy spread around. Though once she found out what was in the eggs, boxes and bags, she would have been more interested in searching.

She enjoyed carrying around her basket with Dad. She sure LOVES having him around.

On Easter Sunday we got all the cousins dressed in coordinating dresses to take pictures. Dani, however, has two molars coming through and did not sleep much the night before. As a result she was very clingy that day. Dani's three cousins smiled so sweetly for the picture, but Daniella is in tears. The "mother's curse" my mother gave me has been fulfilled. And yes, just like my mom, these are some of my favorite photos too. I love the emotional dynamics of the smiling cousin and screaming Dani. She really does LOVE this cousin and was chasing her at a near run the night before this calling her "Kih-Ee" (Same sounds she uses for kitty, but it is an approximation of the cousin's name).

At least she did pose and smile for a few pictures. Perhaps I will be able to photoshop a smiling face onto her terrified one in the group photos. . .

Happy late St. Patricks Day

I know this is late, but I took this picture expecting to upload it on St. Patricks Day. I tried to place the two kids together and as soon as I did Dani decided to "burp" Jackson. Even though Jackson is able to burp himself now, she still likes to pat his back whenever she sees it.

Tea Party

A few weeks ago we were able to have Katelyn over to play while her Mom went to an appointment. Here are a couple pictures from their little tea party. Luckily, Jackson was asleep for the first little while. However, even after he woke up I was surprised at how smooth it all went with three little ones. They all listened attentively to songs and were patient when I needed to tend to the others.

We received a birthday package for me today from my Mom. It was fun to see some adorable new outfits for Dani. I can't wait until she grows into them. Daniella was very excited for the new box too and quickly picked out a favorite piece of clothing.

Thank you grandma for the nice "hat"!

I did not put this on her, or encourage her, she is just obsessed with "hats" right now and thinks everything made out of fabric should go over her head (blankets, pants, socks, shirts etc). She will often ask me and Trent to put on her doll's hats by handing us the doll and patting her own head.
