Surprise!

Uncle Scott took this photo back in November just before our family photo shoot. I think it is pretty cute.

Goodbye swing

Today we packed up Dani's swing. I kept it out a little longer to have a place for Jackson to rest at times, but he is not so interested in it anymore. When Trent was looking at it to see how to take it apart, Dani came and asked to get in one last time. It is amazing how quickly they grow.

Time with Dad

Trent is on a fairly busy schedule this month and has not had much time at home. Daniella really enjoyed her Daddy's day off on Wednesday and seemed to do everything she could to be with him, including grabbing an xbox controller and pretending to play lego indiana jones.
Today Daniella was missing her Daddy. She woke up as he was getting ready for his 30 hr shift and she was upset when he left. We went walking outside and she kept expecting Dad to walk around the corner, but no luck. We are excited for him to be home tomorrow and have weekends off in February.

Dani's Baby

I love to watch Dani play these days. She is starting to figure out where things belong and how to interact with her toys more. Her baby goes into the car seat, bumbo chair and stroller. Sometimes she puts it up on our kitchen chair and pushes her around the room in circles on the chair. She also kisses her baby when she takes her out of the chair. Trent noticed that she will sometimes imitate baby Jackson's sounds while she is playing with her baby in his car seat.

Here are a few videos so you can also see how she plays. In these videos, I'm less involved than I normally am when we play, but it's still fun to watch. On the last videos I'm trying to have her show off to the camera, so I'm not following her cues as much as I normally do, but she is still quite cooperative. Right after taking the video, I watched it to see how it recorded and she was MUCH more interested in following through with my requests when it was the video camera requesting.

While I was writing this post, Daniella put her baby into the bumbo chair and placed a burp cloth over her face and said "doe?" (with a "Where did she go?" gesture). It was just like this morning when we played peekaboo with Jackson and his blanket.

My Old Dress

My mother mailed me a dress that I wore when I was little. When I wore this dress my mother got me all ready for a photo shoot and I was perfectly happy until she took me out of the car. I threw a huge tantrum in the photo studio and the photographer asked Mom if she wanted to reschedule. My mother said that she wanted me to know what I was like and made the photographer take the photos anyway. They are now some of her favorite photos.

Here is Dani in that dress. She is a doll and perfectly cooperative when I take her picture. I don't know what she would be like at an actual photography studio. Perhaps someday I will take her to get her picture done professionally.

In this picture she is asking for a book. She has become addicted to books lately and will throw a huge tantrum if I don't want to read the book about her more than three times in a row. She also loves to read "From Head to Toe" by Eric Carle, "Brown Bear, Brown Bear", and any book with a dog or fish in it. Since it was just the two of us today, I took some videos of her play and will upload them later.

Updated blog

Since Trent is on call and I don't sleep as well when he is not home, I have taken the opportunity to update this blog. Many of you may realize that I add many posts in spurts. The problem is that I have lots of entries that I want to write, but don't take the time regularly enough to download the pictures and post and sometimes I just don't have the time. I find that it saves me time if I am in a blogging mood and do it all at once. I back posted all the way back to December 1st, so keep going back to see new posts if you like. I order them this way so that I can review the dates later for scrapbooking. Hope you enjoy!

Tea Party

Thank you Uncle Jeff and Aunt Jess for the fun toys! We had a great time at our tea party. Baby Jackson is a much more fun guest than the typical stuffed animals.
